Retrieving password

I was wondering if there's any way to retrieve an administrator account password if I have access to a guest account on the same computer? My laptop broke so I'm temporarily using/sharing his desktop. I need to install some programs for work but the owner of the computer (my father) is not available for another few weeks.
A lot of the so called "password retrieval programs" out there don't work, because some of them require that you have access to the admin account already (which is kind of stupid, if you have access already don't you already have the password? O.o), have some admin-only programs, or something else related to admin privileges. I cannot install anything on this guest account since it prevents me from doing so.
Thanks for the help.

As your "Father" has the admin account it would be going against the Forum rules to help provide an answer. Not saying it is, but your post could be a carefully worded question to disguise a hacking.

People have phones these days, just call him up. Nobody on the forum is going to risk getting in trouble to help you with this one.

Ok, i agree with policy. Sometime i think and know that many like my family and friends do NOT make profiles with admin rights like i do for emergencys. Corrupted profile is not uncommon. i have many backdoors with backup profiles with admin rights. two to be exact. delete the bad one and create a new one. just because i can not access my corrupted profile does not mean im a hacker. im not. i would be interested if a mod would find this to be in violation. i think its a legit question. not everybody is corrupt and most everybody is not a hacker.
thought it was a fair question as far as corruption goes.

im not a hacker but interested in how you might fix it. its come up enough.

of course im talking about a profile and operating system that i bought and own.
this has never been talked about.
