Return from hibernation

Hi,

Can you please Explain what happens after Windows get from hibernation because I experience these funny things.

System runs fine all the time no problem with that but some games may run pretty slowly about 3 FPS after returning from hibernation. When restarted again or when booted from turned off those games fun smoothly the slowdown occurs only after waking the system from hibernation.

It is not so much of a problem just curious what causes this, whether it is wrong allocation of RAM or is it Vista's fault or anything else?

Just to add. I found out that there are also some issues with graphics driver after returning from hibernation.
I cant think of anything else just that this is an issue of Vista. Never happened with XP to me...

Has someone experienced this or has someone figured out a way to get rid of this?

I got 3 gigs... These errors occur only when returned from hibernation. Until hibernation the system works fine. I cant say that the system works bad after hibernation there are just these small issues nothing dramatic really

Are you running an x58 chipset? I fo so there is alot of problems with them coming back from sleep, it's a weird issue they are still trying to figure out. Sometimes mine doesn't even wake up and I have to reset the computer.

Yes I am having x58 well there I go I guess I will try to be up to date with drivers and I will see. Frankly it is not so much of a problem to avoid hibernation for me...

Well thx for help... Just additional question I have got also core i7 920 and am gonna OC. How does it run on those 4.0 GHz? Can you advice me some good CPU cooler, is it even needed or the stock one is fine?

To hit 4ghz you will definitely need a aftermarket cooler. 4.0ghz is lightning quick but most programs you will not see the difference from stock (the i7 is amazing as is). Only when gaming you will see the affects it has.

I copied this out of my reply in the 3dmark thread:
I like Thermalright coolers. Anything you get from them will allow you to OC like crazy. I have hit 4.5ghz on air with mine. I have the IFX14. It is made for the 775 socket so I had to modify the bracket to make it work. This is an awesome cooler: Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme

Many other people have had good luck with the Coolermaster V8. It is almost identical in design to my cooler. You can find it here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103055

Even if you don't hit 4.0ghz anything after 3.2 will allow your card to see it's full potential. 3.8ghz is very easily attained and is the most common OC I see for the 920.

Well thx for advice... I was planning to OC once the I need it. Fortunately everything runs smoothly as it is right now.
