reverting to XP from Win 7

Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help me out with this -

I recently bought a new PC for music production purposes. The PC came pre-installed with Win 7. Much of my music production software/external audio interface etc. is not compatible with Win 7, and I can't get on the internet as my wireless Belkin USB adapter not being read either. I have scoured the net for various driver updates, but would rather revert to XP, which always ran smoothly.

I want to go back to XP (which I had on my old PC). I understand Win 7 cannot be uninstalled - I have tried booting the PC to read the Win XP CD, but I keep getting an error message half way through installation. I am unsure as to other ways I can get rid of Win 7, and I would greatly welcome advice offered as to how I can get XP up and running on this PC. Thanks in advance.

The main problem you may have is with finding xp drivers for all your hardware. You may want to put in a new hard drive to install xp to and see if you can get all the drivers installed first before you go ruining the drive that has a good copy of windows 7 on it.
