I am trying to build the best machine I can for the limited funds I have, here is what i've come up with thus far. I have a budget of around $900 CDN works out to around for 1,000 USD, and this is before price matching so if anyone knows any good Canadian websites to price match to that would be mightily appreciated.

You'll need an operating system.

Might be an idea to pick up a 8600GT (or a 8500GT if the 8600 is too much); will allow you to play DX10 games if you get Vista.

Directcanada.com is definitively the cheapest website to match prices for almost everything...

For example, the DS3 is 150, the E6300 is 196 (the E6320 is 206), the corsair RAM seems to be 156,

One thing I'd watch out is the 400W PSU, specially with a 8600 GPU... Of course u'd have to spend more, but getting a Corsair 520HX or Antec NeoHe 500 would be something I'd consider. Actually, I am looking at a system pretty much like yours to build in about 2 months.

Btw 900CAD doesn't quite make 1000USD :p And also, it would be useful for us to know what you intend to dow ith your computer so we can possibly give tips that would suit your needs best.

Yeah, thanks for heads u about the E6320, and Directcanada.com.... as for use it is for gaming, but obviously because of my budget i can only go so far with an eye to the future...

And yeah i was wondering bout the PSU i'll take a look at your suggestions..

Pssh..my currency conversion was pretty close, was off by 10 dollars ;)

And you your right bout the currency perhaps i am just a little prophetic, or more likely i smoke a little too much strawberry flavored pot either way ;)
