Hey. My friend asked me to build a rig for him mostly to use with autoCAD and programs like that.
So i mixed something up, can someone look it over and give their opinion if something needs to be changed?

CPU - i5 2500K

MB - Intel DZ77SL-50K

GPU - XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870

RAM - 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ballistix Sport, DDR3 1600MHz, CL9, 1.5V
(should I go with DDR3 1600Mhz CL8 instead? is the speed increasment worth 40bucks?)

thanks in advance!

I'd get a beefier CPU and go 3770K and maybe get an NVIDIA graphics card if you can for the CUDA support. Could help with rendering.

If you can't afford a 3770K, then yeah a 2500K or a 3570K will be great. I use a 2500K for video editing anf VMs and stuff so you should be all right for CAD.

Stick with CL9.

Why not go for the 3570k ? very similar price. Dont know about motherboards but that GPU is nice. I've got the same one and it plays games in 2450x1440 easy so should be enough for CAD

Well thanks for your opinions. Ive updated the rig to:

CPU - i5 3570K

MB - Asus P8Z77-V LK (z77)

RAM - 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ballistix Sport, DDR3 1600MHz, CL9, 1.5V

GPU - GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Same price as the other one. Any last tips or opinions?!
