Rig for my brother

My brother is looking to build a high-end rig for music production... basically he wants something that is fast, powerful, and silent (or as close to silent as it can get.) He needs a lot of space too as he plans to purchase a package of 710GB of VST instruments and audio files. Here's what he's looking at right now:

CPU - Intel Core i7 - $290
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R ATX (supports SLI) - $200
OS - Windows XP Pro 64 - $140
Case - (needs to be quite) XCLIO Full Tower - $110 (if you know of something better in the same price area notify me as he's not too crazy about the looks of it, but it's the quietest in that price range he could find)
RAM - G.SKILL 6GB DDR3 RAM - $118
GPU - (needs to be quiet) - MSI 512MB 9600GT - $90
PSU - (needs to be quiet) - Please recommend one... I'm thinking 750W would be good
HDDs - 2x Western Digital Caviar 1TB - $260
Displays - 2x Acer 22” - $340
ODD - Samsung DVD Burner $25

Grand Total - $1,713 (assuming that the PSU costs $140)

Any suggestions of where it could be made better or where money could be saved? Also, as mentioned above, he's not sure what PSU to get and neither am I, so any help would really be appreciated. Thanks! :)

No OC'ing (not sure what the point of OC'ing an i7 would be anyway), but I have to agree with him on the case it's not too bad, but I much prefer a Mac Pro case.

How do you thing that HDDs should be partitioned?

Good question... too bad it's not a Mac Pro... then he wouldn't have to back it up. :P

You should probably go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827140034 that drive instead of the one you mentioned.

It still burns normal stuff, just a light scribe, except light scribe discs cost more, but they don't all have to be.

And I'd be worried that all the fans, while they may be cooling, they might be loud too.

Well, he probably won't be needing the lightscribe feature anyway... I'll ask him though. :)

Well, those are pretty big fans and the reviews say it's pretty quiet... thanks though.

Any other thoughts? Thanks! :)
