Current setup

CPU: Athlon ii x4
Cooler: H80 with two NF-F12 PWM fans
Mobo: ASrock 870 Extreme 3
GPU: ASUS 560 TI UCC II
PSU: Sea Sonic 620w psu
HDD: WD 500GB Caviar Blue
RAM: 12 Gigs 1600ram (2x2gb Ripjaws & 2x4gb Kingston Hyper X)

CPU options
2500k
or
3750k

If I pick the 2500k I can afford to buy a 150GB Velociraptor drive that I would use as a boot drive im really stuck between all these options and I know they are all very vauge but im not very knowledgeable on motherboards

My options are for motherboards
Sabertooth p67 Rev 3
or
ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3
or
MSI Z77A-G45

thanks

A cheaper and faster option is a 64/128 GB SSD and a 500GB HDD. Velo hybrid drives are no longer worth it.

Any suggested brands? I guess SDDS intimidate me a bit because im not sure how the whole setup thing works

ok Im gonna go for an OCZ agility3 sata 3 ssd cause of the price as a boot drive what about the motherboards or the cpus?

i personally like the 3570k and the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H.
those will work fine in your build:)

EDIT: take a Z77 board, The msi you had there was good too;)

Go for a GA-Z77X-U3H if your budget allows, if not the MSI one will be fine yes. Get Z77 over Z68 now.

if you go fore 2500k, go for the P8Z68-V /Gen3. I have it and its awesome! Might be Z68 but nothing wrong with it.

If you can get the 3750K and the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-U3H that Jason suggested :)

I have a 2500K running on a P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 and it is a sweet setup, but as a 2500K will work just fine on a Z77 board and Z77 is a newer part, I'd go for a Z77 board unless you can get a Z68 really cheaply.

Bluetooth doesn't seem to want to work for me on the P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 though. Not too sure why but it's not a big issue for me.

a z77 at the level of that z68 is more expensive :S bluetooth and just ASUS seems much more reliable im really stuck. haha going for a z68 wouldn't be that much of a big deal right? Because what are the advantages of Z68 vs Z77

Z68 is a still a great chipset make no mistakes. Z77 supports USB 3.0 natively (Z68 has to use other controllers) and it runs a bit cooler. You may as well just go for Z77 to be honest. It's newer and likely more freely available.

My ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 is a great board but as I mentioned before I just cannot get the Bluetooth to work properly on mine. My Dad has a GA-Z77X-UD5H board from Gigabyte (it's Z77 too) and after updating the BIOS to F7 it has worked very well for him, so I'd recommend Gigabyte's Z77 boards too.

That or my phone is not working properly with the BT. I see the little BT icon in my notification area so I know it's working and enabled.

Well I can communicate with the Bluetooth with my phone to the PC, which is a miracle that my phones BT still works XD
