i have an asus p5k-e/wi-fi AP mobo and im using this ram:
NEWEGG LINK

lately i have been experimenting with overclocking my CPU. i havent changed the multiplier, only my bus speed, from 200 to 260 ATM. i noticed my ram frequency under CPUz is running at 390mhz. i did not ever check prior to overclocking so i don't know if this is a result of that, or if its what my ram runs at... i mean i would assume 800mhz ram would run at 800mhz but memory timings and whatnot is a subject i know very little about.. any help?

changed to 266, now frequency is 399.2 mhz...
does the command rate 2 have something to do with it? (is the 399.2 multiplied by 2 to get actual mhz)??

DDR2 800 runs at 400Mhz.

The command rate has nothing to do with determining the actual speed,

Command rate is how many cycles the controller has to wait in between doing anything. There are additional latencies on top of the command rate. As 0mega said, the RAM runs at 400MHz, it's DDR so it's equivalent to 800MHz.
