RMA'ing GTX760.

Hey, everyone.

So I was having computer issues, with my monitor crashing and just giving me problems all around.. I know a guy that owns a shop and took my rig there to get his professional opinion on the issue, and all of his test boiled down to the video card. I have a GTX 760 from Gigabyte.

So I decided to do some reading, and found that there is a whole lot of people having the same issues with these cards and that RMA'ing them does nothing to resolve the problem, and that the only way they have gotten away from having crashing issues was switching over to Radeon cards..

Just want to know if there is anyone here that has had these issues, or experiences in it.. good or bad?

i wouldnt say its the chip, id say its the gigabyte card, i have had alot of bad luck with them, grab yourself an ASUS or MSI. the mobos they make are ok, the gpu's just give me headaches.

I am sending the card in for "repairs" so we'll see how that goes. Its funny I was even looking at buying the Asus card, but I switched last second.. no explanation as to why, but it happened!
I'm hoping that it repairs will solve the issue, but I'm not one for doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result, so if the "repairs" don't work. I'll probably get my money back and get something different.

Ive had gigabyte receive a card that wouldnt post in a machine, only to send it right back, ended up buying a spare GT430 to hold over the client till the RMA process went through a second time, then they seemed to have figured it out on the second go around. But was seriously upset with the runaround gigabyte gave me on a card that would not even post in a machine.

Hmm, well I sincerely hope I don't get the same run around that you did.. I know that the issues that i've been having aren't that uncommon with the 7 series.. I have heard that it's been happening with all brands, the only one I haven't really heard is MSI.
I hope that the "repairs" do figure out whats happening..

Mainly because I wanna get into Arma 3 and BF4 :P

Its an educated guess, however my GTX580s (admittedly a different architecture), would crash continuously until I upped it by 100mV. Immediately and ever since, not one issue. Worth trying if you are RMA ing it anyway.

Use MSI afterburner to do this.

So after I RMA'd the video card, it resolved all the issues.. I've been gaming pretty heavily on it since it got here without a single issue.. I'm glad that it was the card and not my PCI-e slot or something annoying like that!
