hi im helping deisgning a room where we want a futureistic theme, any ideas, for the door i was thinking a fingeprint reader that would be hooked up to a hydrolic door opener. And please give me ideas that can be done, no fantasy plz

no futuristic themes? and ur doin a fingerprint reader attached to a hydrolic? wow if that works out tell me about it or put up a thread. Well u could do like lights under the floor or something like that, some cool UV lights. But it really depends on ur budget.
 
Install noise-activated lights. It would be fun: you can achieve strobe effects by beating your wife... :D

Im starting to think your not normal.

Anyway, back on topic. Lights under the floor is good, you could put fine grills andhave electric blue cold cathoes under there.

Also, sound actuvated lights could be good. Remote controlled curtains, a bed that folds from the wall, TV's that disappear into a hole in the wall when told to. Electric cupboard doors, press the button and they open/close etc....

All this is very achievable given the time and materials.

Perhpas lights like this:

Obviously the usual 7.1 surround sound connected to a top-line PC etc etc all that kinda stuff
 
actually i got a voice recognition chip that ive hooked up to a designated computer that can power everything, but it has limited commands such as lights on, lights off, and such forth

As For This, we're all starting to think u not normal but its true life is more fun this way

yeh, lorand can be the comedy guy, cheers everyone up when we had a shitty day.

Anyway, voice activated is good. Have you got the budget for something like a 42" plasma or is this a small budget kinda thing. Cos a top-line PC connected to the plasma, get Windows Media edition on it and your burnin mate.

Wait for the Ps3 or Xbox360 to come out and hook them up to it too, fantastic!!!

I know what is very cheap but looks really cool, the old remote control for the PC's. Remote controlled curtinas/blinds that open at your wakeup time.

I also suggest having cold cathodes everywhere, do a line of them down every corner of the room. That would look good, and also where the wallas meet the ceilings, that would be good.

dont go for hydrolics.. its way to stron for a door, and if someone gets between is,.. wel or the thing between it gets squished. or you'll have you hydrolic cilynder trhough the door ;)
go for a pneumatic system. not as strong. and if it starts leaking, you wont have such a mess :)
anyway, you can make use of those IR sensors :) so the door opens when someone approaches :)

how bouyt................... instead of having doors, just have a teleporter and u can teleport urself inside and outside of the room. yeaaaaa and like have some nature scents and stuff. and realistic hologram of a mini waterfall. and have ur own r2d2. ... LMFAO!!!!!
 
for in side the room et A sweet fish tank, I suggest some ambush preds like a Nandus Nanus, or some other Nandus sp. then put in some bichers like a Ornate fish, maybe a L1140 pleco or a african brown knife? depens on your style, then you can put it in your wall, yes your wall, then you can acess it from the next room over, or closer ext ext depening on how you biuld it, also dont get a petco tank that says here your undergravel filter your tank will be sparkeling clean!

Make a sump, if you dont know how, i can help with that, alo a Cascade canister owuld be a nice add if not Eheim but those are pricey.

The wall idea may be a little out of your leage though, thats allot of work and if your under any kind of lease you prabally cant do it. but you can have it in futuristic cases, my next post will be some links....
 
ok i installed a cheaper thing instead believe it or not i got a motion detector light for cheaper than a regular switch, so instead of a light swtich i have a tiny motion detector with a switch underneath taht anymore ideas, i lik the cold cathode rays...
 
i like the idea with the fish tank too...... and yes an r2d2 hell ya!!!! hahahahaha but more on the serious side i found a really cheap aquarium lamp, its like a flat fish tank, but i has fake fish inside, not very realistic but still pretty cool, ill be sure to post pics of everything l8ter
 
definetly lights in the floor...thats has always interested me.

wall cabinets, but the kind that are built into the wall so when they are closed it jsut looks like it's a flat wall.

you can't have any ceiling fans or anything...thats old fashioned. and hide your AC vents as much as possible so the room seems to jsut be cooling itself.

have automatic shades/blinds if you've got a window. they aren't too expensive. very futuristic copared to lugging on a kinky string to get your shades open..then having them crash down cuz' it didn't cath right.
