Router Disconnecting.

Hello i am Ashley and i have a belkin wireless router, ASDL +2 model = f5d7632-4
and it has a big problem randomly it decides to restart cutting of the internet for a minute or so and then it decides to work again it constantly disconnects day after day i have updated the firmware but to no avail any help ?

Are you sure its the router and not the modem? Try replacing the router to see if it solves the problem

Well it is a wireless router so i do not have a modem but when i use a BT modem the connection doesn't drop at all.

You still either need a dsl or cable modem before the router to acquire the broadband signal. Can't get internet without it, unless your router is also a modem.

I have a telephone line connected to the Router.

Then its a modem/router combo unit.

That model is a modem and router all in one. If the connection is dropping out on you then its possible the unit is on the way out. I would never buy an modem/router unit, always separate units. Either something is wrong with your dsl or the unit is bad.

Well it must be the unit because when i use a BT modem the problem does not occur.
