I've been fighting with my wireless router for about two weeks. It used to be working fine. However, I was running a lot of torrents at the same time and left the computer for a while. When I came back, my router could not connect to the internet for my laptop or any of the other computers in the house.
I have tried everything to remedy this problem. I've play around with the firewall, tinkered with the settings on the router, restored factory settings on the router and our connections to it. I even went out to buy a new router and I still get "local only".
I can't tell if something is wrong with the router, the computer, or my ISP. I took my laptop to a public location and it connected without an issue. It also connects directly, using the cable to the ISP.
I've used Linksys's WRT54GS and Netgear's WGR614 routers, my ISP is Comcast, and I use Vista and Windows XP operating systems.
Please, any help would be amazing.
