Router problem -.-

Hello, so I have this problem with my router. I have a ADSL connection, and I need to connect it manually from my computer. If I won't connect it the download speed sits at 120kb/s, but when I do then it goes to around 300. And I got this router recently it's a trendnet TEW-632BRP. So when I put the router between the modem and the computer I can't connect ADSL, and well my internet is really slow with it's 120 kb/s speed. I was wondering how could I solve this problem? Perhaps I could get some detailed info about my router and how to do it. I'm not really good with routers.

well, now. What do you mean connect? , is it physicaly dissconnected? or what. if you would be more descriptive and if you look at the modem on the bottom or where ever, to find the modem info, i.e. embark .right now i cant help you, without more discription. one more thing though, you can access your router by typing this in the address bar: 192.168.1.1

the the user and pass could be any combination of these
