Router Question (100% stupid one too)

So I have been thinking of buying a new router my current is a Linksys BEFSR41 Version 2 router and as title states this is going to be boarder line stupid but I was curious.

My setup is 3 PC.
1 for my use - Counter Strike / COD4
2 for Girly uses for WoW
3 Guest Computer / F@H (Cousins like to play games on it)
I connect via Ethernet Cables (will never wireless and always break the little wireless antenna things to ensure its dead)

So I have had small issues with this router over the years mostly fixing it by reseting it when it acts up but other then that it was a solid router.

I believe these are the accurate specs for this router (stolen from http://www.ljmsite.com/tech/Linksys_BEFSR41/)

CPU - Samsung S3C4510001 ARM7TDI CPU at 50 MHz.
Flash memory - 5 Volt CMOS equal sector Flash Memory (512Kbit x 8)
SDRAM memory - 512Kbyte - 256K x 16 (4 Mbits) dynamic RAM with EDO race mode
Ethernet controler - RealTek RTL8019AS ISA Full-Duplex Ethernet Controller and # KENDIN KS8995E 5-Port 10/100 Integrated Switch

So my girly says she usually gets 90-110ms playing WoW on Scryers and now she is getting 200-220ms now. First I thought maybe it was the server but then I thought could the router be at fault?
Could it be overloaded with to many connections and slow down and thus lag the game a little? Not enough to physically lag but increase the MS of her game?

Please note I do use torrent (40 max connections) for Demos/Patches/Community Mods etc legal stuff but its a GREAT way for me to "throttle" my speeds so I don't lag her out....a pissed off girl gamer = a unhappy boy gamer (when I want laid) ^-^

My connection is 12mb I believe (shows 22mb but not a real speed)...speeds wise I get 1.6mb max direct downloads and I can upload around 100kB (though over 40kB and the entire network lags like hell)

So could this router be the issue or am I just over thinking it and If so what is a good router that can be fine tuned for my use of the internet?

It really could be either. I'm leaning more towards the internet connection/server/computer, but routers are, in terms of network devices, some of the slowest devices out there.

What you can do to isolate the problem, connect your girlfriend's laptop directly to the modem and see how the performance is. Try this some, then maybe go back to the router and confirm the results.

This is what I'm experiencing;
I have a linksys router and its the same problem I have. I have to restart my router on daily basis to get the appropriate speed for my internet. It basically slows down my internet speed. first I thought it may be the cable modem but when the cable technician came and did the diagnose, the modem was perfectly fine.
Once we restarted the router the proper speed came back. I have a 15mb connection and my linksys router makes my speed down to 3-5mb. So I always have to restart my router on daily basis. I'm just tired of it...

upon researching on the web, i discovered that other people are experiencing the same issue. so its definitely the mfr issue and/or quality problem.

My friend has the Apple AirPort Extreme, and he never noticed any decreased in speed or internet connection. He has the router for almost 1 year and he never had to restart it ever..

So if you can spare some extra cash I would definitely go for the Apple AirPort Extreme and you wont be sorry. I'm just waiting until I get a little extra cash and I will definitely go for it.

I don't support anything Apple. Also the issue was just latency not connection issues I have them every once in a while but its a easy fix.

Thanks btw The_Other_One your suggestion payed off and it would appear it is indeed server side for her as both are the same.
So will have to wait for it to break before buying another router :P
