How can I find out what the password is on my router because I forgot it? I'm trying to log on with my wireless labtop.

If it is the default, then it is likely on the bottom of the router. If not, then check the documentation.

If you have changed it, then you can always reset it back to default; again, consult the documentation for the device.

Do you mean the wireless security key? If so, then access the routers login page and you can find out what the security key password is by looking at the security section.

I tried that but it don't work so I set the router up years ago and God only knows if I set up a password or not.
I go into the wireless network page and it says "choose a network" there are 3 or 4 of them and one of them is my wife’s so who are the others? Do they belong to my neighbors? It ask for a password which I don't have so I guess the only way is to put in another router or reset the one I have which I don't want to do because my wife’s laptop is connected to it and I don't want to screw it up so I'm kind of lost.

What brand router is it? Often you can do a factory reset and then you can reconfigure the router from there. Resetting the wireless key is as easy as entering the new key on the devices/systems you want to connect.
