Routing an internet connection

Hi, ive got a Belkin 54g wireless router. I live in halls of residence at university and my internet comes through a RJ45 port on the wall straight into my computer (as if its coming from a router). I want to share this internet with other computers using my router.

Is this possible and how?

The router requires a input from a RJ11 although the internet comes from a RJ45.

Any help would be much appriciated.

A router does not require RJ11 connections unless it's some router with a built-in DSL modem. However, you should be able to use the router's switch(4 LAN ports) to share the connection.

Now if you do have a standard WAN port, connecting to the network using that shouldn't be too hard. I'd assume DHCP would issue all the information to the router and it'd work just like being connected to a modem.
 
Yeh it does have a built in modem but i won't require this. Ok so if i go straight to the router from the RJ45 port on the wall to one of the four RJ45 on the router will this work or will i have to go through my computer to the router and share the coneection from my computer (i.e. having to leave my computer on constantly, which is not ideal)? THanks
