Roxio Easy Cd Creator giving me the following error, help please

I am running windows98 and recently i've been having a lot of problems with my computer, especially IE. So i've decided to burn the necessarily documents i need and format and install windows XP.

however, to my great luck, roxio now isn't working.....i've tried uninstalling and re-installing..same problem occurs :eek: :confused:

this is a screenshot of the error msg it gives me. *see pic attached*

is it possible to use a different buring program or do you have problems installing things as well?
 
I would use nero instead of Roxio Easy Cd Creator. For a cd creating program I have never seem the number of errors that easy cd creator can create. From cd drives disappearing to your computer restarting for no reason all things that have at one point been cause by easy cd creator. Nero to my knowledge have never cause a system error on any computer.
 
If theres one recommendation i can make, never touch Roxio Easy CD Creator, not only will it have probs itself but often causes confilt with other programs. Go for Nero! :P

You've not dealt with burning enough. Drop by cd-rw.org sometime and you'll see, i swear i answred as many Nero questions as Roxio ones... ;)

Wetz.... is that W98 ur running?

My mistake I should of noted I was talking completly from personal experience. Out of curiousity what problems has nero cause other then cd writing related ones.

Well the important problems with nero are the CDwriting ones :P But Nero sucks at:
- Encoding (really *really* sucks)
- Nero Vision Express in more unstable than Windows Me + virii
- Its a good thing that Nero uses its own ASPI layer but that can be a source of confusion for people that use Nero + some other program to burn stuff (i.e., DVDs) and dont have a proper ASPI layer installed and think that because Nero works .. they must have an ASPI layer
- Nero InfoTools doesnt correctly track proper installation of ASPI layers

In general I will say Nero is a superbly written program (and reccomend it) but like all proggies, there are faults :)
