Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to run an operating system (Windows XP) from a CD-ROM and if so, How would I go about setting it up. Thank you kindly.

You can run certain distros of Linux from a LIVE cd, but not all distros have this. Windows you cannot, you have to do the install.

I would definettly not go with a windows livecd. I doubt there is many features or tools include on any windows livecds (Since, a default XP installation has basically nothing). Go with a linux live cd like knoppix, which has 2 gigs of software on the cd version and 8 gigs on the dvd version. If you have a more dated machine, slax is very fast.
