"Run" items not being saved

When I do the "run" command (ctrl+R) on Windows XP, the previous programs I typed in do not save after I restart the computer. For example, if I ran iexplore then restarted my computer, iexplore would not be in the drop-down list. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Because your running from a remote location. The file was not saved (or was temp) and deleted with a reboot. Try SAVE...

That's not it, iexplore is on my own computer. Perhaps it's because iexplore is running of the C:/ (as is the calc) and I am using the D:/ as my main drive?
