Hello, i surfed forums and didnt find anything about runing programs as non admin. The problem is that i dont have the admin password, but i would like to run kazaa lite codecs so that i could watch internet TV at work! The admin at work will not install any software and wont give me the password no way!

Thanks for help

there is a way to do it......

boot it up in safe mode, press F8 while windows is booting up and then create an admin account and then you can do it, or boot it up in safe mode and install it and then boot it up normally,

i don't think this is against the rules :(:o

I do not know if that will work or not, but the admin at ur work has a password and wont let u install programas for a reason. So i wouldnt recommend that u do it.:o

Just some advice:):)

Unless the admin at work doesn't work with IT as his primary job, that will not help. The builtin administrator will (of course) be password protected.

Anyways, to the OP: check the rules first. Sometimes you can get fired over less

the OP already mentioned that the admin won't give him any password. so what's all the safe mode stuff ? If there's a tricked out password on the Admin ain't no way you will create another (admin) account. that won't help at all.

Though..... there are ways (which i know of).... but i can't help ya mate

There is a way to that might work...... this is how we did it to the school laptop at my school...... i can post how to do it..... am i able to??

If it's XP, it's impossible NOT to get in the account :P
But sure, we aren't allowed to help you on this one, against the forum rules.

This only works if your admin is inept at their job. I also don't recommend installing software in safe mode.

Bah. You can root just about any system if you have physical access to it

That still depends on your tool set. It is pretty damn hard to hack some systems with physical access if done right.

Of course with physical access you do throw a lot of security right out the window.

Well, I dont want to hack or damage the sistem, but I just want to install software to be able to watch TV over internet! It would help anything that would make my player work!

Thanks everybody

You don't need a program really.... you just view it on the internet using IE or Firefox.... also sometimes when you click on the link it might start streaming using windows media player or your default player.

Sure, it depends on a lot of things. You can also install things on an xp machine that will protect it against a lot of the physical things you would otherwise be able to do. Out of the box, a Linux is as easily owned with physical access as a xp machine is. I think that was my point :)

I highly doubt that's what you're supposed to be doing at your work... of course I wouldn't know, but...
