running dual channel on non dual channel board

Can you run dual channel DDR2 memory even if the board doesnt support channel. will it still see the memory just not run in dual channel mode.
 
You can install it (as in you can use the ram) but you wont be able to use it in dualchannel mode unless you have support from the mmoery controller either via cCPU or chipset
 
Ok am installing RAM for a friends computer and the dual channel kit was cheaper than 2 seperate sticks.
 
The Memory is not dual Channel, the boards are. You can buy what they call dual channel memory packs, but they just pact two togather and warranty that they will run on a dual channel board
