Running dual monitors on Crossfire?

I currently have a single Radeon 6970 card which has two DVI ports that connect to my dual monitors. I'm planning on buying a second card, probably a 6990 and using crossfire. Can I plug both monitors into the two dvi ports on the one 6970 card? I heard something about having to use a display port adaptor. Does that apply even when there are already two DVI ports on one of the cards?

Also I might end up getting a third monitor. How would I set that up with crossfire and would I be able to easily switch between eyefinity when I enter and exit games?

Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

you will not need to change anything as far as the monitors are concerned once you install the 6990. Its all drivers from there. If your 6970 has a display port, that is what you will need to use to get the third monitor to work in Eyefinity.

Also, what are you doing that needs trifired 6970s? you may be fine with another 6970 in CF. 3 is just diminishing returns.
