running only @ 118.5mhz ???

My friend is having the same problems. When he overclocks to 2.6Ghz, the RAM and HTT automatically scale down, even if he sets it higher manually.

well - I changed the clocks on memory and set the DDR to 333 and the frequency went up - Whoo
It's on 185 now

There's something wrong with the divider, cause if you set the memory to DDR400 the divider should be 11, yet it's 22. Setting the memory to DDR333 should change the divider to 14 and giving you a memory clock of 185MHz (DDR370) and you could then tighten the timings. But there's definately something weird about the memory divider.

what exactly is memory dividers, it makes no sense to me. i tried googling it but the concept is just confusing
thanks

Basically it divides the speed your CPU is running at with a certain number aka. divider. In my case my cpu is running at:

200x11=2200MHz

So when my memory is set to DDR400, the divider will be 11 in order to get a clock speed of 200MHz:

2200/11=200MHz

When I OC to about 2.6GHz (2956MHz to be exact) I have to set the memory to run at DDR333 in order to keep the system stable. When I do this the memory divider changes from 11 to 14, so then my memory would be running at:

236x11=2596MHz
2596/14=~185MHz

Quite simple isn't it?
