Running Shake 4.1 on Linux

Ok heres my question. I have a copy of Apple Shake 4.1 that can run on linux, but it says on their website that it requires fedora core 4. now from what ive heard they are up to core 7. I'm not very well versed with linux and i have never used shake before on linux. does anyone know for sure if it matters if its a newer version of fedora or not?

Also if it should work with other versions of fedora which one do you recommend for a first time user. i dont plan on running anything other than shake on it.

it all depends. and very good. it is 7. (but the 8th beta is out :)) but it all depends. i have seen where no it does not matter and some where it will not run at all. it is most likely to be able to run of fc7. good luck into the linux world

cool thanks...i currently dual boot with ubuntu so i know my way around some linux but never got into fedora...however its worth learning if it will let me run shake....thanks for the input...
