Running two firewalls?

Um...no? Are you going though a router to get on the internet? That is another firewall you are going though. I cant imagin how the windows firewall on top of anything else could be unsafe...

I guess you both are in the same boat there to some degree. McAfee kind of lacks being a good firewall to begin with. Something like SyGate or Kerio is favored for a full retail version by many. Leak testing with a few different utilities designed for that will help. The Windows firewall really isn't anything to worry about much there. It never seems to do anything anyway! :P

Two firewalls running on the same system do not cause any problems. I routinly run two. Not that two is better but it seems that every time you shut down Windows Firewall, an update turns it back on so I just leave it on. I have ZoneAlarm Pro running as well. No problems.

Well I wan on another site and the site always takes forever to load. Well sometimes it does anyway. But they said disable one firewall.

Hmm..., well some modems even have a firewall as well, but to further assert what others have said, you can have 15 firewalls on, and it won't hurt other than maybe slow down the 'net a bit. I would say shut off the Windows Firewall, 'cause it stops about as much as swiss cheese would. And get a ZoneAlarm firewall, comes either with their standard Anti-Virus package, or a little better buy would be the whole Pro suite, great programs.

I can say for sure that the Windows firewall is as good as the Windows Defender for stopping anything. They should rename the Defender to Pretender there. Meanwhile one freeware someone has been pointing at lately goes by the name of Jetico. The next to bottom link in the center of the page here is the free personal firewall. http://www.jetico.com/index.htm#/jpfirewall.htm
