runtime error 401 plus more

I am getting the runtime error 401 at startup but along with that, i am getting popups asking to run certain web sites. They are all from a freeware program i got for school but i deleted everything affiliated with it but they still pop up. i used malwarebytes and got nothing out of it, also with avg and avira. Any ideas? I at least would like to know how to fix the runtime error 401
