Considering I almost never get an answer when I ask these questions... Ah, hell with it, I'll ask anyway. You think I could run it with the specs below? I don't want a laggy crap-fest, And there's no playable demo. Thanks in advance. :D

Edit: Clear Sky that is, Not Call of Pripyat.

Id say you stand a chance...depending on your processor speed but it wont max the settings out. I mean everything but your CPU meets the recommended. If its a 3.0ghz P4 even better.

I think you would have problems:

Recommended system requirements:
AMD Athlon 64×2 4800+, Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent
1GB RAM
256MB GeForce 7800 or equivalent DirectX 9.0c compatible Graphics Card

You might have stood a chance if you had a better graphics card.

Gahhh... Conflicting information. Thanks Twist, By the way. It's 2.50GHz. I've been giving some serious thought to OC'ing it though.

You probably would be able to run it at minimal settings and not running anything else and have some 'lag' issues. So I don't' know if it would be worth playing at all :P

you have:
HP Pavilion 753n
Intel Pentium 4 Processor
1.5GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce 5 FX5200 256MB
Intel AC'97 Audio Controller

From IGN:
Geared to run even on older DX8 machines, the game will have the same system requirements as the original STALKER. Still, players who have upgraded their system since then will be able to take full advantage of DX9 effects that look every bit as good as some of the DX10 effects we've seen on the show floor.

the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R recommended requirements are (from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R website):
Recommended System Requirements

* Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 / AMD 64 X2 5600+
* 2 GB RAM
* 512 MB DirectX® 9.0c compatible card / nVIDIA® GeForce™ 9800 GTX / ATI Radeon™ HD 4850

I don't think it will run very smoothly on your hardware. The recommended processor - the Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 - is a 2.8GHz dual core. Yours is 2.5GHz, your GPU has only half the recommended processing power, and your 512MB short of the recommended RAM...

I guess you could try the benchmark for the original and see how your system measures up. You can download it here: http://cop.stalker-game.com/?page=benchmark

There - someone replied! :D

Probably not what you wanted to hear though... but that's life. :good:

with the money you would have to spend on cooling and the time it takes messing around overclocking, just pick up a new cheap mobo and cpu. Anyway my friend brother loves to play his games (specially stalker) and he has a p4 @ 3.4, 2 gigs of ram and a 8800gts 640. He has no problems playing the newer games. Maybe just see what fsb you can push your mobo up to (first clean cpu heatsink, with brush), the old p4 can handle a bit of heat and buy another cheap gig of ram, but the most important thing you need is a good graphics card.

I doubt it will run very well on that system,I think the cpu will be okay,But the GPU :rolleyes:..quite outdated.

I've been giving some serious thought to OC'ing it though.

If its an HP system you can realy OC it....they lock their bios :cool:

I tried to overclock my HP back in the days when i had my Sempron 2800+ in my HP system...no bios settings for overclocking,i couldnt even overclock with software within windows.
