S-Video Cable

to use it plug it into the back of the computer, then the back of the tv, make sure TV out is enabled on PC, switch TV to S-Video and input, and, as if by magic what you see on your screen is duplicated on your TV!

S-video does not carry any audio so you will have to run a separate audio cable, most commonly rca/phono connectors.

yes it should be, as long as your TV has those same RCA (red/white) audio input jacks.... on modern TV's these are at the front, slightly older TV's, they are at the back, older than that then they wont be there at all.

I tried again to connect laptop to tv through s-cable with rca plug(red/white)output but it doesnt work. It doesn't show anything in tv. Any idea how it will work?

If you have no sound and no video, make sure your tv is selected to the auxiliary or s-video input - actual menu setting depends on the tv.

you mean to say..no need for me to set-up the laptop, just plug in then it will automatically detect tv? i will try again to check the configuration of tv..

No. If you do nothing to the tv settings it will show the normal tv programming, not what is coming from your pc.

It's like playing a dvd through your tv. If you don't select the aux input (or whatever it's called on your tv) you won't see the dvd video. Your pc signal is coming through the s-video so you have to set the tv to look at the s-video input.

You still have to set up your laptop.
