S-video not working properly ??????????

I just installed my radeon 9250 pci card into my dell dimension 2400, The monitor works properly but the s-video out is not. It looks black and white on my tv and does not show anything but a wierd looking screen with my background showing. What is wrong?

If just your background's showing, you probably have it on duel display(were both monitors work independently) and I'm assuming you expected clone. This option is enabled though the advanced display settings, not in the regular display settings.

As for black and white, I hear of this probablem a bit. I'm not totally sure what it is, but I would assume it's a bad cable or converter...

I got the black and white away, but now all I see is my background with nothing else, just the background,no icons or anything. How can I fix this? Please help!! where are the advanced display settings?

Control Pannel > Display > Settings > Advanced > (from this point I'm going from memory as it's different with ATI) monitors > click the button by the TV option > Select your mode(Clone, etc)

You do need actual ATI drivers, not just Microsoft ones. You also might have to disable dual view though display settings.
