Is the s-video picture better than a standard rca connection?

my tv doesnt have a rgb connection and the standard rca looks horrible.

s-video is better the composite rca...much better

Svideo does have better quality than RCA, but don't expect anything amazing. Neither RCA or SVHS will look that great if your using tV-Out from a computer.

Separate video, abbreviated S-Video and also known as Y/C is an analog video signal that carries the video data as two separate signals (brightness and color), unlike composite video which carries the entire set of signals in one signal line.

In something like out putting from a psi to tv the difference can be huge, ever when using tv-out the improvement is noticeable I have found

s-video made a huge difference in playstation 1 games, n64 games, and dvd's, but with ps2 it's less of a difference, and i wouldn't imagine to see any difference at all with something like a ps3 or a computer, since NEITHER connection has nearly enough bandwidth to preserve the picture with any kind of decent quality

Well my TV's rather old so I HAVE to use RCA I know the quality is better, but I'm basically saying don't expect miracles. SVHS is still running interlaced and all, and 720x480... The only way to get decent video from a computer to the TV is to use a LCD TV or something of that nature Something that has VGA or DVI in.
