why cant i play a movie from windows media player to my tv?
i was wondering if there was some software out there to help.

Do you have a video card installed on your PC? If so, you may have to go into the properties of your card and configure it to play on a tv.

Explain it a little better...What exactly is happenening when you try?
Sounds like Media Player will play and the video will show on PC/laptop, but not on television screen.

Which settings are you using to show your desktop on the television? Have you tried another media player that you have available to see if it will work too? Oh, and does your desktop show up at all? Or is that just the video be blacked out not allowing you to see it on the tv.

Are trying to play a movie on both a the same time? I while back when I played around with this, I t seems I had to change a setting to do that? Anyone here know?

I have found that cloning your screen solves this. I'm Guessing you are using Span where your TV acts as a seperate monitor. If this doesnt help, I 100% garentee making the TV your primary display device will work why you watch the movie, then change it back when your finished.
