ok guys GR8 news..first build COMPLETE im going to be gameing soon but first I would like to OC it a little..
I would Like to OC my cpu and video card and going to need some help....
i have... well check out my sig..
im going to read FaQ for a few mins and see what I can get out of it..
If some one can give me a link or w.e to tutorial on how to Oc it would be nice..
All i know is that i need to go into BIOS and change speed of cpu..idk about video card......

Like I said im going to check out FaQ for a little but I would like some 1 to help me lol....

Also like I said i dont want to OC it to HELL because im runing stock fan :( and i dont want my cpu explodin lol...
My video card is 6600 Gt evga and I want it good enought to play BF2,WOW and Americas Army with out anyproblems...

OH BTW im downloading the drivers for my video card because vidoe card didnt come with any cd's lol..
im downloading 81.95 forceware..w.e that is..

also im haveing some problems scrolling ....i saw that some 1 had the same problem..
maybe its because I havent downlaoded GPU driver...but hey..idk

WHERE THE HELL IS NORTON ANTI??????
usually it comes with new comp...i cant find it ..
do i need to go buy it now?
(lol the money spending never ends at the dc's' house)..
 
Yeah thats the problem. Drivers will fix it. And congradulations on your first build!

I wouldnt overclock immediatly. Usualy gaming testing and stability testing goes first before you void all your warentys. Its not a good idea to have a rig that crashes after 10 minutes of gaming but you cant RMA the graphic card because you overclocked it.
 
well i dont plan on returning eather the graphics card or cpu..I plan on keeping em untill i can afford 7 series nvidia and then sell my 6600..

Also do you think I should wait untill I get my large cpu fan to Oc anything?
Im in the process of downloading unnessesary things like aim right now lol...so im not going to be able to game for another hour or so..

and yes I downloaded the driveres and it fixed...also where is norton lol...i miss it...i really dont want to buy new one because its like 90 bucks so....yeah.

Chill, just download some free protection if you feel you need it.
I recommend AVG.

I highly recommend you let the system burn in for a period of time before you attempt to oc. That way you get the chance to test it for stability. And detect whatever else issues it may have. Not to mention measure the stock performance so you can compare the oc results later on.

What's the 'large fan' you say? Well it wouldn't hurt. :)

lol I say "large fan" reffering to a better fan then the stock..in otherwords ANY fan that I buy lol...

but no im going to go with a high cfm low dba level cpu fan....
and theres no way to install norton 06' for like a 1 year period or something??

For free? No..

But there are better options than Symantecs Norton if you're performance minded (for free).

If I was to use antivirus protection I wouldn't pay thats for sure. Not when theres so good alternatives for free.

Try another one then if you don't like Avast.
 
ive heard good about Kaspersky might use that one...2morrow im going to go to circuit city and best buy and check out what they have and talk to the guys there about what they think a good antivirus is...then i leave lol...im really not about to pay retail..especially at best buy...

yes but what if you have a defective card? Then you OC it and say byebye to the warranty. you'd be stuck with it.
 
I can see your excited about your new computer.. but who wouldnt be :P

As tweaker said, i would burn it in for at least a few days, run some benchmarks and then compare it with the OC'd tests.
 
yea im sorry but i have NO idea how to run a benchmark..i heard 3dmarkO5 is good ..but like I said Idk how to use it lol...
I heard some 1 leaving a benchmark or w.e on for 24 hours after Oc'ing and yeah...Idk how that story ended...anyways.....

Also the Temp inside is 95F..idk what that adds out to in C but im sure its how lol...

Hi...IM haveing just ONE prob...

when I go to start/turnoff comp/ stand by....
it goes into standby for a second then comes right back on..
im 75% sure its because of my keyboard/mouse (wireless)
I have had the same problem on my old compp....plz let me know how I can fix it..

Dont put it on standby, if you want it back on quickly hibernate it. Or turn it off all together.

BTW if you did not know the quick way to hibernate.

Its Start ----> Turn off ----> Hold Shift ----> Hibernate

Holding shift turns standby into hibernate btw.
