Safe e4500 temperature?

hi guys, i've been monitoring my temperatures alot lately because they were getting pretty toasty, and i have been wondering what temperature i should consider too much. (i mean too much as in might affect the life of the processor that i would notice)

right now, with wmp, firefox, IE, and avast doing a standard system scan i am at 47C, and both cores are reporting 38C.

EDIT: oh and right now i have it running at 6x400:2400mhz so i get a 1600mhz FSB and a 1:1 ratio. and not one voltage is off the stock setting

Intel's Thermal Spec on that processor is 73.3c

That would be a safe move. I keep my processor at 60c load but only because I want to make sure this processor last for at least 3 years. Didn't buy a quad just so I could upgrade in the next year

do you know of any program that will allow me to chart my temps as i go through a game or something?

Speedfan has charts and CoreTemp keeps templogs.

ok. i did that and played world in conflict for a little while and it looks like i'll be o.k. untill i buy a new heatsink. i never hit 60C
