safe mode on ASUS mobo??

can someone tell me how to get into safemode on my computer. I have a ASUS A8N-SLi deluxe. I have previously been told to press the F8 key upon hearing the beep, when I do that it takes me to some kind of hardware boot monitor. Is there any other way??

Windows safemode is software based, not hardware. It makes no difference what motherboard you have.

From the sound of it, you're pressing F8 during POST. You're suppose to press it AFTER post, when Windows starts to load.
