Safe Mode Will Not Work

Hello,

This isnt my computer this is the family one, and safe mode will not work.

When i press F8 whilst booting it comes up with "Select Boot Device" and nothing to do with Safe Mode. Also F12 does nothing.

Please help.

Are you sure that your motherboard is reading your hard drive properly? I assume that by using safe mode the normal booting sequence had failed? What did you do before the fail? That might shed some light on your problem.
 
As soon as I press the "on" button on my computer, I start pressing the F8 key. After the main booting thing (before the windows logo) it goes to a blue box and above it it says "Select Boot Device". In the box you can make a choice of the DVD-RW or the Harddrive (it says the name). and which ever one you click, it boots normally. It wont go into safe mode. The computer is working fine, it always has been, it just doesnt go into safe mode.

What kind of computer,make and model?
 
I think you're banging on F8 too soon :P Wait a bit longer. Most computers have a POST beep. Once POST is complete, THEN start pressing the button
