safe mode

how do you start in safe mode? I think i'm able to reformat my computer through that, but i'm not sure

Do you have Windows XP?, because if you want to reformat your computer you can do it through the XP CD

You press F8 to get into Safe Mode. But you cant reformat your hard drive in Safe Mode since Windows will still be in operation, you would need to either boot from a Boot Disc (Windows 9x), or reformat from the Windows Install CD (Win 2000 or XP).
