Safe Temperatures?

Just completed my 1st build. I was curious as what are safe operating temperatures for the CPU and internal cabinet temperatures?

I'm seeing about 75 degrees directly on the AMD 64 3000 factory heatsink Not overclocked, (yet), and about 72 degress on the MB, HD and PSU.

Have a Lian-Lai 65B case qith 4 fans.

Benefits to cooler temps? Extended component life? Faster operation?

I'm using a thermal infrared thermometer and shooting the heatsink, PSU, etc. throught the clear window.

The ambient temperature in my office is 75 degrees. How can an the internals of your PC be cooler then ambient unless you're running a liquid cooler or other cooling accessories?

yeh, that very good. the lowest i got mine too is around 27oC :). that danger zone u are talking about is around 50oC i would try not to overclock higher than that. it will start crashing around 60oC.

Pretty impressed with the case, fairly large and roomy, excellent fit, lots of fans.
They've come a long way since I built my last one.

Of course, now I can beginning filling it up with extra HD's and PCI boards! and watch the temps go up!

my mobo supports speedfan, therefore all fans connected to mobo are 'speed selectable'. dont buy more expensive fans with variable resistors in them. :)

for measuring get a ruler and meausure the sides. actually your stock cpu fan is usually 80 or 92 mm, if the front fans look a lot bigger, then they are 120mm obviously. the case looks quite large at the front compared to mine, im just curious.

Front fans are 80mm.
Yes, case is probably bigger then I needed or wanted. Lots of room for expansion and aids in cooling I guess.

Doubt that it will start crashing at 60C. However, it is advisable to keep it below that.

Hmmm... it seems your just a little confused as to whether you've built one before or not :D lol, you must be having a bad day. Don't worry my memory comes and goes too. :P

Well you got about 10C before they tend to kick down.[ Regardless thats pretty damn good that yer only running 2º above ambient hehe

I must clarify, my 1st build was not really a "new" build it was a conglomeration of several computers that I patched together in 98.

So, this is my 1st puter built with "new" parts form scratch.
