Safest Way?

If I were to install a new, lets say 500GB hard drive or something, and I have 3 hard drives now and want to transfer everything over to the new 500GB hard drive would it be as simple as copy-paste everything over, or is there a free program I could use?

The manufacturer of the new hard drive usually has a utility you can use the clone the old drive to the new drive.

What is the model of new drive?

I haven't ordered it yet that's why I was typing it hypothetically, but what would you suggest thats under like $50 above at least 500GB?

He's right and I always copy and paste like said. If windows 7 at least in pro they have and experimented with sync that worked i think and have a briefcase icon and dont know the diff. I think its sync. would like others also to expand on this if ya would.

You will be paying right around 50 bucks for a 500gb drive unless you find a sale somewhere.
