Same operating system and antivirus on both harddrives?

Can the same operating system be installed on two drives on one desktop computer? Is the operating system tied to the motherboard during registration?

Also, I use bitdefender as my antivirus. Can the same antivirus program be installed on both harddrives in one desktop computer? Is it also tied to the motherboard?
 
Yes, you can install the same OS with the same key on the same computer. And yes you can install the same antivirus on the same computer, however, not sure if you would have to rebuy the software. Why not just run free antivirus such as Avast or MSE?
 
Thanks John. I've used bitdefender for a few years and love it. Guess I'll take a look at your suggestions.
