Ok check this out, I am asking the same old question about your opinion on this setup. Be honest, call me dumb, whatever :P just pls discuss the items as a setup and if it together. Thanks a ton!

This would be about 1850 i think. good price for the items?

you can save money on the processor
and ASus P6T doesnt supprt 3 way SLI the last two PCI ports are too close for triple way sli
and go for a triple channel memory and better motherboard
and my guess is you are buying it from ibuypower
if thats the case i recomend assembling it
and you should go for 4890 crossfire instead of that overpriced cpu

+1, go for the Core i7 920, good place to save money.

P6T supports tri sli, and thats not even important since he is going with ati cards

Memory is triple channel.

Ibuypower is good for those who dont want to build themselves.

||no not ibuypower, i am using the different sites as a basis of items to get, and i will be putting together myself. But, thanks for the info that is exactly what i am looking for in responses. thanks!

@"and ASus P6T doesnt support 3 way SLI the last two PCI ports are too close for triple way sli"
your replacement suggestion, and why?

@"4890 crossfire instead of that overpriced cpu"
I didn't list a price for that individually, but y the 4890vsIntel® Core™ i7-950 3.06 GHz 8M L3 Cache LGA1366, most places i read say that is is one of if not the best.

Thanks

@ bomberboysk

Thanks for the feedback! that is great!
Any other ideas for change in the setup?

I am sorry about the P6T I had my mind on P6T deluxe well P6T does support

And you can overclock 920 to great extent on liquid and as on many threads bomberboysk has commented its the same chip with higher clocks
so go for 920 its a great saving and will run like a beast and then go for 4890 crossfired or gtx 275 sli

And lol i made a wild guess about the ibuypwer thing because of the way he stated his GPUs:D

The Core i7 920 is a good cpu, and will overclock similarly to the core i7 920. For cpu cooler, those self containted watercoolers arent that good, and would be outperformed by a good quality aircooler such as a coolermaster V8 or a Xigmatek S1283V Dark Knight, or Xigmatek Thors Hammer.

The 4890 i would go for over the 4870's as they overclock much better and perform better than the 4870.

Where you gonna be buying parts from? Newegg.com is excellent if your in the states;)

For motherboard, another good one is the foxconn bloodrage, excellent mobo.

But from the reviews I have heard about Asus P6T has some problems after overclocking which were fixed in P6T deluxe v2 by removing the SAS port I cant find the link for that review but i read it while i was buying a PC

It's not the best. The 965 Extreme is, soon to be the 970, but they are a waste of money.

You don't need any more than a 920.

I have mine running at 3.43Ghz all the time and it smokes.

Actually the 975 is technically the best @ 3.33Ghz stock, but an i7 920 easily overclocks to that:P

ok so your all saying

"920 its a great saving and will run like a beast and then go for 4890 crossfired or gtx 275 sli" - is a good statement and i should change up to these....

#EVGA X58 3X SLI Intel X58
#GigaByte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58
#GigaByte GA-EX58-UD4P Intel X58

Any of these "better" (in your opinion) of a motherboard and why?
please, :D thanks

:good:

Gigabyte UD5 imo,but if you can go for a Foxconn Bloodrage thats the motherboard i would go with, excellent and one of best overclocking boards for the price:

yea the bloddrage is probably one of the best. well either one of the bloodrages since there are two. if you need to save a little bit go for the cheaper one which is still an awesome board but if you can afford it go for the more expensive one

Yeah, the GTI has a slightly less advanced voltage regulation system and whatnot, but still one heck of a board. Only thing i dont get is why they put 3 instead of 6 ddr3 slots on a high end board..

anything else?
oh and yes i did cut and paste information ( easier then type :P )
fyi: haven't built a pc since the days of my teenage years doing 286/386 computers and thinking a 24kbaud modem was insane fast for a looking at BBS sites. but i am sure its like riding a bike.

Oh and I'll be back with needing overclocking advise, and have no exp with this.

You using some kinda website or something like ibuypower or whatnot to organize parts? Thats prolly not the best idea since there are immensely more things you can choose over what those sites offer. www.newegg.com is a great place to get things from, and for a psu i would recommend a good brand 850W over unknown brand 1kw:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009&Tpk=850TX

just using a site to cut and paste the info of the items to i dont have to type it out cuz i suck at spelling..
but will be bought at newegg.com
