Samsung galaxy s8

Currently I have an iPhone 6s and I'm really wanting to switch to android as I'm going through a phase where I don't seem to like anything apple. I have been saving up my money for a Samsung galaxy s8 and it's really looking like I might be able to get myself one for my birthday in August. However the only concern I have is the phone has been out for a few months already and it seems they come out with a new Samsung galaxy phone every spring. Should I just keep saving up my money and wait until next year to get a newer Samsung galaxy.
 
Get what you want. There's always something new right around the corner and using that rationale you'll just wait forever.

The S8 was a pretty big change from the S7 so I imagine the S9 will be a more marginal upgrade relatively speaking.
 
Do what is within the budget and don't live beyond your means.. if you can afford it, and deem it necessary it will be a great upgrade. If you're having any doubts or the cash just isn't right.. wait. Despite being annoyed with your current handset you are in an advantageous position where you don't have to do anything - because it still functions.
 
What do you use the phone for?

As per others it's personal preference. The S8 will be a good phone for a while. Even more budget phones like the Moto G5 plus work well for anything you had in mind and save a bunch of money.
 
Currently I mostly use my phone for texting and calling and listening to music through Spotify. I also will sometimes play Pokémon go, but that's the only game I have on my phone. I would also like to have my bank card and gift card on my phone once I get an android phone so that I don't have to carry as many cards in my wallet. I suppose I could look into getting a Samsung galaxy s8 for my birthday as I'm getting so tired of my iPhone and it looks like I might have enough money saved up by then.

If you want to make the switch to Android, and thats all you really use phone for.. why not look for a $0 deal on contract of an S7 then? You not missing out on much and probably won't utilize many of the s8/s8+ features.. plus save a crap ton of $$$

I'm in Canada so if whereever you live doesnt do $0 deals then forget what I just said.

If you want to know anything about the S7 Edge my wife has one and I can answer most questions.
