Samsung Issues Global Recall (Note 7)

I was at a local big electronics store today at lunchtime, and somebody returned one and they said they had to pull them off the shelves because of the exploding battery concerns. I'm glad they are taking the problem seriously, and not going into denial mode. 2.5 million phones is a lot. I am. Not sure. I am. Guessing the problem. Is with. The battery and not the charger, otherwise they would have just recalled the chargers. I can't say I feel sorry for Samsung, they are just getting more and more greedy. Their phones are getting more and more expensive. Again if they had phones like note 3 and the note 4 with removable batteries, they could have just replaced $10 batteries, now that they have sealed them and made them so hard to replace, look at the problem they have. I am glad nobody was hurt.
I am an ex Samsung note fanboi. The price of their phones is fairly close to Apple now, but they are not Apple. The mainstream public may not care but now at I am paying the prices they are now charging for their phones if they are going to support it for like 18 months or something ridiculous like that. They won't even come out and say how long they will support the operating system and provide security patches for. That is just another disaster waiting to happen. At least Apple are transparent and have a history of supporting phones for about five years, until the hardware cannot genuinely support the new Operating system. Samsung philosophy is just make the most profit and screw the people who have older versions of their phone. I don't care about the latest operating system, but I would like them to publicly come. Out and say what phones they are supporting with security patches and provide concrete dates upon. Which they will stop supporting them.
Until they start to take that seriously, I'll look at either the next google pixel xl or iPhone 7.

Exactly my feelings too!!
