Hey guys recently my girlfriend lost her Samsung S4 and there was a special offer for a Samsung S5 so since I didnt have any good gifts for her XD I got her a new phone. Now Im here to prevent her from loosing the new phone. So already created a account on samsung but I think that their locating services only work when the phone logs into a wifi so I need something that could help more. Any apps good apps out there that you recommend? Thanks

In addition to Android Device Manager (which you have to enable on the phone), I would recommend Cerberus. It's a very robust tracking app that in addition to letting you see where you phone is from a website, you can pull the phone and texts log, have it take a photo on x number of incorrect unlock attempts, manually snap a photo, have the alarm go off, lock and unlock, etc.

Thanks Geoff. I'm not really paranoid or anything, but I did just buy that :good:

Guys Im back, Im totally new to the phone stuff.. Still Ive downloaded the Cerberus and I have to admit Im impressed. Im trying all the commands and see if I should get it to my phone as well but when I try to activate the roaming service via sms it says that I can not do that unless the app is "Rooted" I dont have a clue what that means and how to "Root it" XD Any tutorial out there to help me, sounds tricky :D Oh yeah to all of you reading this HAPPY NEW YEAR ;D

I use mine all the time, I leave my phone on my desk and sometimes students come in and take it to play around with it, since I always have new phones, it's nice to be able to lock it or restart it remotely.

Cerberus does use root for some of the features, but the majority of them do not need root. If you don't know what root is, you shouldn't attempt to root your phone.

Well the best features need the app to be root.. imagine yourself looking for a 600 euro phone in a trainstation during hours until the sun finally showed up.. I must have those features. Well im gonna try and figure out how to do it ,in case it gets to hard I have a few friends crazy about this kind of stuff :)

Well guys Ive managed to root the phone but now Im having a hard time on moving the app, link2sd gives an error when I try to any other apps that could to it?

Why are you using Link2sd? You don't want Cerberus on the SD card.
