Samsung Series 9

Hey guys,

What do you think of the Samsung Series 9?

There is a 13.3" version that has i5-2467UM I think? for such a lower price, and it's got the look that I like.

Currently, it sells for $895 CDN, I was wondering if there are any other sites/prodeucts that will beat it?

So far, closest I've come to was the Asus Zenbook, but still higher price and very similar specs to that of the NP900 by Samsung.

I prefer Asus to Samsung cause only because a while ago someone posted there issues with Samsung tech support and I know from personal experience Asus tech support is top notch when they replaced my charging brick with no questions asked and no cost to me when my dog chewed it up. Try newegg.com, you might be able to find both those models at a lower price.

That I agree very much. I've heard of many dissatisfactions with Samsung. However, if you were to leave that out and look only at the performance, would you still say the same?

Samsung from what I have read make good laptops, but I believe in only buying from a company that builds good quality products and that stand behind there work so I guess I would take another month to save to buy from Asus.

Plus performance is relative, if your gaming and cannot wait then get the samsung or save up so more money and get a Asus or shop around. Anything else the Asus will be able to do so go for the quality company that backs there products.

Samsung may be good but for computer, I will also choose trusted brand like dell, asus, hp or toshiba.

There computers seem well built, and reviews are well except on the customer service and warranty honoring. I know there phones are amazing, tablets are well built but a little under powered due to old hardware thanks to Apple.

That's a waste of a post and I'm pretty sure you're just trying to get your 50 posts to make a FS thread. Samsung is indisputably one of the more trusted brands for hardware and quality products. There have been some horror stories with customer support... but you won't hear the stories of good customer support from large companies, so just keep that in mind.
Samsung has an online chat system so you can guaranteed get in contact with a real person. If it's a legitimate problem and you have your warranty registered etc... then you're golden.
That's not to say anything bad about Asus; they're definitely a phenomenal brand.

Really? :P

He's been here for over 2 years, and has only created 1 thread throughout that time, which didn't relate to any type of advertisement.

If you look at his recent posts you can see that he isn't so good with english. :)

At least it is not as bad as the hp rep we had on here for a while, I was almost pissed that he was aloud to become a member.

I don't think I agree with dell and hp. I currently own HP and DELL work laptops (both i7, 17''), and boy, do they suck in performance. Seems like their own softwares always seem to crossover with tasks I do and pop up at the most random times, and also their laptop is slow for some reason....

Asus, I must agree that their laptop is solid however.

I think the series 9 by samsung isn't built for gaming anyways. I wanted one for my sister who's going into university and something that looks nice/does its job well would suit her.

Hi ScottALot, how are you?
I said "Samsung may be good" it just happened that I have bad experiences about it and like other brands. Brand I guess is really a personal thing.

Thanks Bootup05

Cheers! :)
