Samsung SM-352F problem

hello everyone,

I have a Samsung SM-352F T902 that reads as an OEM Code of IBM with WINQUIRY. Well, it stopped working! It will not read anything...it will try to read a disc and then it will just stop. But when I put in my WinXP disk, it starts it up no problem. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Do I have to upgrade the firmware for my drive to work?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Robert

I have tried that site, and I tried to update my firmware, but the firmware utility SFDNWIN was saying the following:

"This Firmware is not compatible with the selected drive. Contact your system manufacturer for information on firmware updates available for this drive."

I am at a loss right now.....does anyone have a write-up on how to do the firmware update? maybe I'm doing it wrong....

I have the exact same type of drive and am getting the same problem trying to update the firmware. Did you ever get it resolved ? I downloaded the T902 firmware from the actual SAMSUNG site too so what hope do we have ? Ha.

The problem I hoped would be solved with firmware update is a strange one....

I use the "comments" and "subject" fields of my image files. I noticed that the info was not showing when I burn the files to CD. The fields are blank but when I look in properties the info IS there. I looked at it on another 2 PCs with different drives and it was fine. Info showing in Windows Explorer perfectly. Back to another 3 PCs with our beloved SM-352F T902 drives and it's not showing.
