samsung tv and a hdd

I have some photos on a External hdd that I viewed on my tv and it worked great but when I plugged it back into my computer it didn’t recognize it, the hdd only works in my Samsung tv now. I think the tv may have changed the format of the drive. I pulled the hdd apart and tried to connect it as a slave to my computer but it gets to the windows boot screen and freezes until i disconnect the drive.

Any ideas on retrieving my photos would be greatly appreciated

Correct me if I’m wrong. When you plug a usb device into a Samsung tv it formats the drive into its own format something other than ntfs or fat etc….etc…… so a computer can read it because the tv can record to usb and the broadcast is copy protected, therefore the drive should be erased but it hasn’t.

I don't think the drive is faulty because you can access all the photos and videos on the tv.
All I need to do is get the computer to recognise it and I should be able to recover it from there

i think the drive stayed the same, its your computer thats not reconizing it, so then i would try to hook it to another computer...

I’ll try it again tomorrow, I have hooked it up to 3 different computers via usb and I have pulled it apart and connected it up via sata as a slave with no luck.

Contact Samsung for help or search for a Samsung forum dealing with your TV as their might be useful info...
You could restore your hard drive by windows by selecting "My computer Manage" and do a reformat....
