Sandy Bridge CPU price FYI

Just thought I would let the forum know, if you don't already, that Microcenter has some killer prices on CPU's, specifically Sandy Bridge. I picked up an i7 2600 yesterday for $250 before tax. Pretty sweet! :D

So, does anybody know when the new Sandy Bridge CPU's, chipsets and Mobo's will be fixed, reissued and out on the market for sale again?

What is it about them that is good. Are they going to be more bang for your buck....Less expensive, so therefore more in line with AMD. I'm getting ready to build a computer for the first time and need to know if its worth waiting for them to re-release....I'm not in a huge hurry, but if its not worth the wait, I'll just go ahead with my AMD build...

Well the I7 2600k is around the same strength in multitasking as the I7 980x ($1000 6 core cpu) and even faster than it in single threaded apps.

Yes, it's definitely worth the wait. As 87dtna said, the i7 2600k provides 980x performance for a third of the price. That's some serious bang for the buck. ;)

I'm looking at the

AMD Phenom II X4 955 and a

ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Priced together at $250.

Will I be around this price point with the Sandy Bridge setup???

No not at all, but thats not even close to an apples to apples comparison. Even the 1090T doesn't stand a chance against sandy bridge.

The 2600k will be more that $250 alone. The 2500k is a better price, you can get an I5 2500k and a decent P67 board together for around $350.
But you'd be at $450 for a 2600k and board.
