Sapphire Technologies: Godsend or Goober

So we all know that Sapphire sells "the same thing" for much less, but does it really? Sure they dont have to spend cash slugging it out in the advertising campaigns with nVidia, but how much cheaper can you make a card w/o sacrificing performance. I'm currently running a sapphire version of the Radeon9500 Pro, which has worked fine for me untill BF2 :) . Then again, i've never played on a system with the real-deal radeon. Feel free to throw your two cents, or several dimes, into this.
 
I got a sapphire 9600xt plays bf2 on high stettings, its a good card depends on certain peoples standerds.
