SATA 1.5 instead of 3.0

I am planning on building my own system shortly. I have a post on here about it. Anyways, I plan on using the hard drive that I use right now since I have two of them. Since they are just regular SATA 1.5, will this work with this board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188013

Is SATA 3.0 backwards compatible with 1.5? I hope I don't have to buy a new hard drive.

What about optical drives? I plan on using the one I am using right now but I don't think it is SATA.

What about using SATA drive on a board that has SATAII controller? The speed will only be 1.5mbps instead of 3.0 correct?

What about using SATA and SATAII on the same board? Will that be a problem? I would like to have 2 hard drives but don't want to buy 2 of them. I'm hoping I can use the one I have now(SATA) and buy a new hard drive(SATAII) for backup and secondary storage.

Yea 99% of the time it will be fine, Western Digital drives have a jumper on there 3.0 drives that set them to 1.5, second set of jumpers from the left.

lol, if it was only 1.5mbps then the transfer rate would be a max of 192KB/s

But yes you can use a SATA 150 drive with a SATA 3.0 controller.

my abit mobo will not recognize a sata11 hdd unless i move the jumper on the back too sata1 so make sure there is a jumper on the back some oem drives come without a jumper.
