SATA 3.0 GBS Cards

I am looking to get a SATA3.0 GBPS card for my desktop. I have fund several PCI express 4 SATA plug cards at Newegg, and Several PCI 2 plug cards. I am looking to get a PCI or AGP 4 SATA plug card. I only have 3 PCI slots, and one is occupied by the sound card). Do you all have a card that you would suggest? Or a way to add more PCI or a PCI Express slot to the MOBO??:confused::confused:
 
No, I mean SATA 3.0 GB/s (GBPS). My desktop is an older one. It has 2 SATA 1.5 GB/s plugs on the MOBO. I was wanting to put some 3.0 GB/s in so that I can run a DVDRW and some newer, faster HDD's.

I only have 3 PCI (original) and one AGP slot to occupy. One of the PCI has the sound card (needed as the built in sound doesn't work)
 
Just to let you know, you can run SATA 3.0Gbps devices on a SATA 1.5Gbps interface, you won't get a benefit from the faster interface when using SATA DVD/CD Drives. They have several PCI add-on cards that give you SATA 3.0Gbps ports, no need to buy anything fancy and expensive for your use.
 
I believe you are searching for a RAID Card. You can also just use them to gain more SATA ports.
 
Yes it should. Keep in mind when installing windows with one of those cards you will need the drivers for the card.
 
It certainly should come with a CD. At worst you find them online and slipstream them onto a windows install cd

It would, but that is only SATA 1.5Gbps, so it wouldn't help you at all. I would look at one of these, both of which support SATA II.

If you run Windows Vista/7, you may not need to install drivers, but in either case they usually come with drivers and an application on a CD.
